Configuration Scanning

A search of the configuration space is performed automatically and devices found on the bus are identified. Configuration registers for each device found are displayed in binary and formatted into the PCI defined record structure. The data is then analyzed and decoded to provide vendor and capability information.

Header Region

The first 16 bytes of the header are defined the same for all types of devices. The remaining bytes have different meanings depending on the header type field. The header display automatically adjusts for this variation and reformats the display to accommodate this.

Configuration Space Analysis

Data found in the configuration space is decoded to identify vendor, type of device, revision ID and capabilities. The Analyze It! software maintains a list of the  latest class codes and vendor numbers which are used to decode the configuration space. The results of this analysis are displayed in an easy to read format.
